What Else Does the Chamber Do?

Our Annual Banquet

In addition, the Chamber of Commerce hosts an annual banquet when area businesses and individuals are recognized for their achievements and contributions to the community. Being a member of the Chamber of Commerce allows you to join Chamber committees which help to shape community polices and make positive contributions for the entire area.

Promoting Madison County and the Huntsville Area

And of course, one of our most important functions is promoting the Huntsville Area and to encourage people to shop and do business with our members. We make sure that new residents who purchase a home in the Huntsville area are welcomed and are aware of the business climate the Huntsville area has to offer.

Shop Huntsvlle during the Christmas Season

We sponsor the shop Huntsville program during the Christmas holiday season. On the first Saturday of December, the Chamber of Commerce sponsors the Annual Huntsville Christmas Parade which has become second to none. In addition, newspaper inserts are sent out for two weeks focusing on our theme, "Shop Huntsville for the Holidays" and members have the opporutnity announce shopping specials and other promotions.

Business Referrals

We make referrals from the numerous phone calls and emails that we receive each day from people who are looking for a place to eat, an antique store, an upscale gift shop. Yes, everyday people are inquiring about Huntsville and we are pleased to refer them to our area businesses.

People Considering a Move to our Area

We make sure that people who are considering moving to the area have all of the information that they need when they are considering relocating. In fact, we are the first contact many people make when they are considering a move. Many want various print materials to review and we are pleased to be able to provide them with the information that they need.

The Chamber represent Huntsville at various meetings

One important function that we provide, is Huntsville is now represented at many important informational and planning meetings. Each month, we are now in attendance at the Northwest Arkansas Council, along with other area Chambers. New ideas are shared and information gathered that will be of future benefit to all of our business people and citizens in Madison County.

ABOUT THE HUNTSVILLE AREA CHAMBER OF COMMERCE

The Huntsville Area Chamber of Commerce is an organization consisting of business and professional members who have united for the purpose of community improvement and development. This development carries out into the entire community and includes the creation of a sound economic base and orderly growth.

The primary purpose of the Chamber is to be the “voice of business”, but it goes beyond that to reflect the feelings and the needs of the residential community. The Huntsville Area Chamber works to accomplish its purpose by fostering good business practices and community involvement, contributing to the quality of life and helping to create a diversity of educational, cultural and entrepreneurial opportunities.

Just a few things that we do!

The Chamber of Commerce offers ribbon cuttings for new businesses not only as an introduction to the area but as an introduction to the Chamber and its benefits. New locations and grand openings after a remodeling are done for members.

All members receive a sticker for their door or window that show they are members of the Chamber of Commerce, a wall plaque, and a free basic ad spot on the chamber website on request. The Chamber normally has first contact with visitors and new residents. The Chamber of Commerce receives calls and letters requesting information on area activities, businesses, and property. The Chamber is there to extend assistance, referring only businesses that are members.

The Chamber also encourages tourism and growth in the area. Madison County is one of the best kept secrets of Northwest Arkansas. We are working on brochures and information that will bring together information on the area lakes, Wildlife Management Areas, State of Arkansas Natural Areas, hiking trails and other opportunities for enjoying our beautiful area.

We are in the process of finding ways to attract Internet users to our web site to introduce them to the area. More visitors to the area helps to encourage new businesses. The Chamber of Commerce website is always improving. All members are listed on the site on the members page with links to their business site or e-mail if requested.

As far as networking, you bet! There are many opportunities to meet and learn from other area business people. Monthly board meetings are open to the general membership. Midyear and Annual Membership Luncheons offer guest speakers or Chamber updates with topics of interest to business owners.
