About the Huntsville Area Chamber of Commerce

The Huntsville Area Chamber of Commerce is an organization consisting of business and professional members who have united for the purpose of community improvement and development. This development carries out into the entire community and includes the creation of a sound economic base and orderly growth.

The primary purpose of the Chamber is to be the “voice of business”, but it goes beyond that to reflect the feelings and the needs of the residential community. The Huntsville Area Chamber works to accomplish its purpose by fostering good business practices and community involvement, contributing to the quality of life and helping to create a diversity of educational, cultural and entrepreneurial opportunities.

The Chamber of Commerce offers ribbon cuttings for new businesses not only as an introduction to the area but as an introduction to the Chamber and its benefits. New locations and grand openings after a remodeling are done for members.

All members receive a sticker for their door or window that show they are members of the Chamber of Commerce, a wall plaque, and a free basic ad spot on the chamber website on request. The Chamber normally has first contact with visitors and new residents. The Chamber of Commerce receives calls and letters requesting information on area activities, businesses, and property. The Chamber is there to extend assistance, referring only businesses that are members.

The Chamber also encourages tourism and growth in the area. Madison County is one of the best kept secrets of Northwest Arkansas. We are working on brochures and information that will bring together information on the area lakes, Wildlife Management Areas, State of Arkansas Natural Areas, hiking trails and other opportunities for enjoying our beautiful area.

We are in the process of finding ways to attract Internet users to our web site to introduce them to the area. More visitors to the area helps to encourage new businesses. The Chamber of Commerce website is always improving. All members are listed on the site on the members page with links to their business site or e-mail if requested.

As far as networking, you bet! There are many opportunities to meet and learn from other area business people. Monthly board meetings are open to the general membership. Quarterly Membership Luncheons offer guest speakers or Chamber updates with topics of interest to business owners.

In addition, the Chamber of Commerce hosts an annual banquet when area businesses and individuals are recognized for their achievements and contributions to the community. Being a member of the Chamber of Commerce allows you to join Chamber committees which help to shape community polices and make positive contributions for the entire area.
