GENERAL INFORMATION - HUNTSVILLE

Huntsville, like all cities and towns in Arkansas, are political subdivisions of the State that provide services to all the citizens of the town. These services include
  • law enforcement and police protection
  • maintenance and construction of city streets
  • District Court and code enforcement
  • fire protection
  • provision of water and sewer services
  • parks and recreation
  • airports
  • Zoning and planning
  • Emergency Service Planning

The City of Huntsville has a mayor-council form of government and elects the Mayor, City Clerk and eight city councillors, two from each ward, who compose the city council. The ten elected officials are:

The Huntsville City Council meets the first Monday night of each month at 6:00 p.m. in the council chambers of City Hall located at 208 East War Eagle Street. City Hall is located between War Eagles and Main Streets.
